MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - 302 conversion carb update
|Hey folks, I thought I would get this out so the other 302 folks could use the information and hopefully save some headaches. I have run into hood clearance issues recently. I was prepared to drop the rack when I decided to do a little research 1st to make sure it was needed.|
FINDINGS: The holley 600cfm carb is 7/8" taller overall than the comparable Edelbrock unit. This measurement is to the highest point on the carb (Choke tube). Holley measures 5" from Intake to top, the Edelbrock measures 4 1/8". the air filter base of each is 3 3/16" for Holley and 3 1/4" for Edelbrock. But with the shorter choke tube the edelbrock can use a lower air filter set-up... I will post more info when I have it.
