MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Body Flex and Springs

Here are a few quick questions for other people who have hopefully already solved these problems.
I have a 305 v8 im my mgb roadster, which produces over 300 horsepower. I know that others have gone this route or have used ford small blocks. How well does the frame stand up to this kind of punnishment? What type of reinforcement should be done to ensure that the car doesnt twist into junk? Im not sure of how much torque the engine makes, but it has to be over 300. Right now im running an automatic with a pretty soft shift, so the frame really isnt taking too much of a pounding, but i'd like to go to a standard if it wont kill the car.
On an unrelated note, how much ride height difference is there between the chrome bumber and rubber bumber srings? Thanks

Alan.
