MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - British V8 2010 'Converting Indy'

British V8 2010 will indeed be held on the west side of Indianapolis from July 8-10 (Thursday through Saturday). I would recommend arriving on Wednesday and departing on Sunday.

We will have activities beginning Thursday morning....we are waiting on a contract from O'Reilly Raceway Park (formerly IRP) for the road course and will also have an autocross at this location in the afternoon. Contracts are also pending for indoor go-kart racing (gas carts with good building ventilation), a visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (garages, track(s), Gasoline Alley, and the museum), and a possible visit to Andretti-Green corporate offices and shoppe. Tech sessions and conversion comaradarie is a given.

We've got a British pub lined up for dinner one evening, and of course we will have an event banquet and auction on Saturday evening at the host hotel.

The hotel we've contracted with has given us a GREAT rate and is conveniently located to I-465 as well as ORP (IRP).

We hope to have a registration form available within the next few weeks (we have to SEE the contracts first!) and will advise accordingly.

British V8 2010 is NOT a car show; we have no awards, etc. It is a gathering of enthusiasts to have some fun; to be able to put their cars into some spirited, safe driving, in a controlled environment; to met up with old friends and gain some new friends.

British V8 is open to anyone with a V6/V8/converted British car...to anyone interested in doing a conversion....and we've even had a few non-British conversions attend in the past!

Pete,

Sounds like it will be a great event and wish I could be there, but that large chunk of water makes it a bit difficult!

Hope you all have a great time.

Regards,

Kevin Jackson.

Ah, come on over Kevin. That big pond ain't so bad. Ken Costello swam over twice to attend! ;)
Carl Floyd

And Ken is planning on attending again this year!

Guys.

If I win the lottery I'll fly me. and the car over to really enjoy the fun othewise I'll have to get some super size water wings for the car and rig up a prop, better waxoil the car again otherwise the sea water would eat it before I got there.

I knew Ken in the old days when he raced a Mini Cooper S, he used to work in sidcup and let me use the ramp at the garage on Saturdays to work on my modified MG midget Mk.2

Kevin.
Kevin Jackson

Maybe next year, Kevin! We'll tell Ken you said hello.

Made a site visit yesterday and got a contract with the indoor kart track.

Gonna be fun!
