MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Insurance Companies (boring, i know)
hi guys, im having my rover SD1 3.5 ltr V8 delivered sometime next week for the start of my conversion. i'd just like to know what insurance companies will insure V8 conversions??? a lot of the insurance companies i've tried such as direct line, the AA, Tesco etc will not insure modified vehicles.
im sure this topic has been covered countless times but i'd be very grateful if you guys could share your advice and knowledge.
I'd just like to thank Dave Vale from the V8 conversions shop in farnborough in kent for all of his help, great guy. need any help, he's the fella!
also like to thank Doug Grizzell for finding the engine for me!

Always go to the classic specialists first, like Peart in addition to the above three.
Try RH Specialist Cars on 01277 206911. They insured my 1800cc 78 MGBGT and did not charge any more when I put a 3500cc Rover engine in.
They are also the reccommended insurers for the Stag Owners Club. Their rates and their service are good.
I have no connection with this company except as a satisfied customer. They paid out very promptly and without arguement when I had to claim for a midget destroyed by fire last year.

If you're planning to upgrade your engine at any point I'd suggest Footman James.
