MG MGB Technical - 2 questions

Chaps

1) At my next service interval i wish to upgrade the front suspension to uprated lever arms (supposedly 30% higher performance), at the same time i'm thinking i shall probably bite the bullet and go for a urethane bush set. Is it worth upgrading the front roll bar at the same time?

At present i am on new front springs, v8 bushes (reasonably new) standard GT roll bar (is it 5/8"??) and am looking to firm up the front end a little. My aim is for flatter cornering, but bear in mind the poor state of UK A and B roads i dont want to go overboard.

2) i am also going to upgrade to some new E-code Cibie headlamps after reading around on the web, however i notice that one webpage rates Cibie "z beams" above E-codes. Are they (the z beams) legal in the UK? Names of trusted UK supplers of either type would also be useful if to hand. (already rlays fitted)

Many thanks in advance for your opinions

Phil,

Go for a 3/4 front bar, it will flatten out the cornering without lifting wheels.

30% uprated shocks are available but some are of dubious quality - the uprated valves cost around £15 so £12 or £15 exchange shocks will NOT have the uprated valves but original valves shimmed out to stiffen them.

Better in my view to spend the money on NEW standard shocks or a telescopic conversion.
