MG MGB Technical - 4.875 CWP set for MGB banjo axle
Good day: *I have a banjo type axle assembly in my MGB. *I'm going racing and want to change diff ratio from 3.9 to 4.875. *Purchased a 4.875:1 CWP set that was supposed to fit into the banjo. *But the 4.875 will not fit into the banjo housing or bolt onto the carrier (the 4.875 crown gear has a 10-bolt pattern)? *Is there anyone familiar with the 4.875 cwp set and can tell me what is needed to make it fit the MGB banjo housing? *Please circulate this email. A reply at someone's earliest would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance and kind regards, Ron Ruffell Victoria, BC, Canada Fax: 1-250-746-0214 |

Hi Ron, I use that gear set at Mission in my banjo rear-end. Bolts right in no problem. What doesn't fit? I wonder if you may have been sold a gear set for a midget? I have a brand new set. Never installed; found my old set after the new ones arrived from England. |

I cant remember exactly which Austin/Morris post office van that diff was used on, but I guess you also need the correct diff carrier and probably different half shafts to suit too......... |
