MG MGB Technical - '69 B Roadster - workshop manual

I recently acquired a '69 B Roadster which I found in the middle of a cow pasture. The car is in fairly good condition.

I have never restored cars before, but I am fairly technical in nature so I would appreciate any advice on how to approach this project.

What would be a good book/guide to help me strip down and re-build the car?

Any and all advice would be welcome.

Cheers

The Leyland Workshop Manual is best for mechanical work, the Haynes at a pinch. Lindsay Porters 'Guide to Purchase and DIY Restoration of the MGB' for the body and trim, republished as 'The mgb restoration Manual'.

Decide at the outset how far you want to go, although you will probably find other things you have to do as you go. Avoid the 'while I am at it I might as well ...' syndrome as you go or you will never finish.

Bag and label everything you remove, keeping parts together with all their nuts, screws, washers and bolts.

As above.

Also, I've found "The Complete MGB" by Robert Bentley to be one of the best books around for
maintenance and rebuilds.

Thanks for the advice, will order the manuals. I intend to restore the car fully and am looking forward to it. Got the Brown & Gammons parts catalog.

Not too good with Geography. Where the heck is Zambia anyway?

Good luck on your restoration.
Luis

Zambia is in sub-saharan africa, smack in the middle. Congo to the North, Zimbabwe to the South, Malawi to the East and Angola to the West. Totally landlocked! But great weather year round.

For those who speak (and read) french, there is the workshop MGB manual for free download at this link :
