MG MGB Technical - A Glorious Day for a Drive

I took the '72 MGB out for a "Nigel" tune-up today. It had sat for nearly a month while I drive the A and the TD and I had failed to flip the battery disconnect switch so the battery needed an assist to get it started the first time. 140 miles later and that weak battery was the only problem. What a glorious drive.

We (a friend in a RB midget was on my wing) headed up the Saluda Grade and through Flat Rock toward Brevard. Being Monday morning, all the good BBQ places were closed but we found some pretty good food in downtown Brevard. From a traffic and driving standpoint I recommend avoiding Brevard at all costs so we headed out of town, picked up Hwy. 276 and made for the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The air was so clear we could see Tennessee. Most of the trees have painted on their fall colors and it was just one "Wow!" after another. Both cars just purred and I'm just posting to encourage you to get out there and give your car a "Nigel" tune-up.

The Flori-DUH weather seems to have finally broken its heat/humidity spell. Turned off the central A/C for the house and opened up the sliding doors for some fresh cool air.

Took the MG-B out for a nice long spin with the top down (at last) and ran up some 50+ miles. I was approached by a Scotsman while fueling the car. He owned an Austin A-7 back in his day.

Now off to wash my car then enjoy a cold beer on the deck after my task is done.
