MG MGB Technical - Adjusting carbs after fitting different head
Hi all! Forgive if this an old question, I didn't found it in the archives. If I port my head or fits a head from Peter Burgess, I have to tune the carbs to my changes right. Does this mean that I have to find a different set of (unknown!?!)needles for fitting my upgrades or is it just a matter if tuning what I've already got? Thanks Jesper |

I went through this same change and Peter Burgess was very helpful in selecting needles. You may need to be patient waiting for his reply, but he probably can help you. Just as an example, I went to the AAA (richer) needle in HIF 4's for a Burgess head 60 over engine. Dean |

Jesper, After fitting K&N air filters, flowed head and free flow exhaust, AAA needles in my standard HIF4 SUs were spot on when checked on a rolling road. Charlie. |

Charlie and I seem to have nearly identical set ups, and, while it has not been on a rolling road (shame on me!) all indications are that the mixture is very good. When I get the car on a dyno later this spring, I will experiment with ABD's also. Dean |
