MG MGB Technical - Bendix Rebuilt Master Cylinder - Experience?
On a previous thread, I had asked about the pressure failure switch - one of the very nice people on this board is sending me one, free of charge! A really nice guy! I was thinking of just going ahead and rebuilding the master while i was replacing the PFS. Now, I'm thinking that rather than trying to rebuild the master cylinder myself that I might just replace it with a rebuilt one. Advance Auto parts has a rebuilt one by Bendix for $99 with a $50 core charge. Even with the core, that's still $100 cheaper than Moss wants for a new one. Have any of you had any experience with one of these? http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=BEN&mfrpartnumber=R12786&parttype=230&ptset=A I have a 76B with the retangular resevoir, not the wedge. Thank you very much! John |

I've been running a rebuilt from Advanced Auto Parts on my '73 BGT for a couple of years now. No problems or complaints. |

Same here. Mine is an earlier master cylinder but very happy. I got mine from Parts America at Kragen. It also had a lifetime garentee. No leaks so far. |

Thank you for the responses. The warrenty is only one year now, but at least it has one. I think I may try one and see - I've gotten good service from Advance in the past - I know they'll stand behind it if it starts leaking in the first year, anyway. John |
