MG MGB Technical - Brake M/C Leak

As part of getting our 73 back on the road I rebuilt the brake master cylinder (dual circuit non-power assist). After careful cleaning and measurement no honing of the bore was needed so I installed new seals and gaskets. The system bled fine and pedal pressure was firm. The brakes seemed to be very stiff but after some use are getting better or I am adjusting to non-power assist. However, the unit is leaking very small amounts of fluid through the pedal seal area. Before I remove the cylinder and replace it is possible the seals were installed incorrectly? Is this even possible?

I'd say that the seals were installed correctly, but could have been pinched during installation, there's a bit of crud in the bore, or you've got some mild pitting in there. I always use a hone when rebuilding a mc or slave cylinder, it helps the new seals to seat, removes any imperfections that aren't visible to the eye or obvious to feel.
