MG MGB Technical - Brake M/C preservative

Just bought a new brake M/C for my 74 B from British Miles (after the rebuilt one from Apple started leaking about three days after installation...no more rebuilds for the brakes/clutch M/C!). There is a green substance in the reservoir which I presume is a preservative to keep moisture out. Do I need to flush this out on the bench before installing it, or will it just mix harmlessly with the brake fluid (Castrol LMA)? Thanks for any insight.

Fred; That doesn't sound right to me. It has been several years since I bought a new MG master cylinder, I don't recall anything being in the reservoir. Maybe someone else has a different opinion. Some people have experienced rapid failure on new cylinders and I wouldn't want to install one that didn't look right.

Sounds like LHM Citroen suspension/brake oil . If it is it would not harm the rubber seals , but I would be nervous about mixing with DOT5 . I have never seen hydraulic cylinders shppied other than dry.
