MG MGB Technical - brake servo

I have a 78 b with a servo problem.
When I purchased the car, the servo didn't work right. the pedal would go nearly to the floor before the brakes applied and then it was a hard braking action. I was also loosing brake fluid into the servo body. I plugged the vacumn hose from the manifold to the servo and I have brakes, but I would like the servo working again.
My question is, do I replace the entire servo unit or does the rebuild kit offered by Moss or VB do the job?

It sounds like the master cylinder is leaking --
the servo is sucking brake fluid out of the MC
because the seals are bad.

If the servo is bad also take a look at this
website. Has instructions for rebuilding a TR6
servo which is very similar to the B's.
