MG MGB Technical - Brakes - bleeding
Recently I piurchased a device to enable me to bleed the brakes single handed. The device didn't work and the manufacturer suggested that I did not know how to use and should get a friend to help me.In the end, by locking the brake pedal down I got a result - sort of. The manufacturer claimed that my car, an MGB GT was oecuklair but talking to friends with MGs I discoverd they had had the same problem - the device didn't work. How many people have had the sdame experience? The manufacturer is gunson. |

I have used the Gunson's eezibleed succesfully for both brake and clutch on both my B and midget. But I found that there were some tricks to using it not in the manual. Most importantly, do not use the 20 PSI max. pressure recommended. 10 PSI or less avoids injecting air bubbles into the system. Also, do not overtighten the cap on the MC, as this also causes leaks. I put lots of paper towels around the MC just in case after one bad experience. It the eezibleed doesn't work, then there must be a problem with the brake system like a leaking rear cylinder, hose, or brake line. |
