MG MGB Technical - CLUTCH IS DRAGGING
I installed a NEW clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing,slave cylinder and hose. i have done this many times on other mg's ( used alinment tool, evenly torqued the screws... ) but THIS time it is not fully disengaged. HELP!!! |

Aaron - get under the car and manually push the clutch rod all the way back into the slave cylinder. This pushes the piston all the way in and forces any air in the cylinder back into the line. Then rebleed the system. This should cure your problem. Good luck - Dave |

Check the travel on the slave piston while someone else (unless you are a contortionist) pumps the pedal, you should get 1/2" to 5/8". Any less and it needs bleeding. If found the simplest way to fill the system was using a gunsons on very low pressure on the slave bleed nipple. Got full travel straight away without any bleeding. |
