MG MGB Technical - Clutch Master Cylinder
Moss quote different master cylinders - '62-67 (3-sync) and '67-on (4-sync) although they list the same repair kit for each. Does anyone know what the difference is? |

I had to swap mine out in 1997, I got the right Moss part number via Summit Maidenhead and the mounting flange was at an odd angle. I had to use it regardless for a short while and then went over there with the car. They had sold me the part number shown for the application, but it just wasnt right, my car was built in Dec 66. I can't now remember how we put this right but fundementally they got all possible variations together, offered them up and replaced it with one that wasnt called up, but fitted. |

The brake master cylinder, used on N.A. imported Bs, used a large dual stage unit. It was so large that the clutch master cylinder had to be tilted to clear it. This is why the mounting flange, on later cars, is offset. The internals of the two units, however, are identical. RAY |

This m/c was in my collection of NOS bits. It only has a Lockheed part no. but it looks like B. Does anyone know if this is the correct number? LM13128 |

The number is a 62-67 Clutch MC http://www.englishparts.com/products/MG/1966/MGB/MASTER-CYLINDER--CLUTCH-MGB-1962-1967/5821568/LM13128.html |
