MG MGB Technical - Clutch master cylinder install
Does anyone know rhe trick to install the lower bolt and nut for mounting the clutch master cylinder? |

Bruce - The trick is to have 5/16 - 24 heli coils installed in the mounting holes. You can then just thread the bolts directly into the mounting holes and not bother with the nuts (the other alternative is to get fingers that are articulated in about 6 places). Cheers - Dave |

Easy way to do it is to superglue the bottom nut to the cylinder flange then you can fit the cylinder easily and thread in the setscrew. |

As I recall I held the nut in a spanner or grips fed in from the side in the engine compartment. A bit fiddly yes but not impossible, I've done brake and clutch in the past. |

Thanks for the suggestions on how to install this bolt. They really make sense and will definitely make the job easier. Bruce |
