MG MGB Technical - Color for 'MG' on steering wheel?

I have a 79 mgb roadster... my question is what color should the emblem be on the steering wheel? It now looks like a dull yellow/gold color. I'd like to refresh the paint to look nice... but would like to keep it looking as close as possible for color.

Thanks for any help.

Donald,
I understand gold is the correct colour and there is a pic in Glausagers excellent book if I recall rightly.

Cheers, Pete

Donald. All I have seen have been silver on a black or dark grey background. This includes my original 79, my daughter's 77, my two current 79s and an 80 parts car. Clausager's "Original MGB", page 90, states ""...the wheel, including the embossed MG logo in the centre, was dark grey in colour, although on 78 models the logo was changed to hot-foiled silver". That seems to be the last change made. Les

In addition to the above 1970 models had a red and silver badge, 'gold' on the Jubilee RHD GTs for 1975, all black on North American LEs for 79 and 80, and red on the RHD roadster and GT LEs in 1980.

I bought my 1979 MGB new, and the badge came with a black background and silver logo.
