MG MGB Technical - Dual Circuit Master Brake Cylinder
I have a 1973 MGB Tourer(Federal) with a dual circuit master brake cylinder. My problem is that I cannot unscrew the plastic cover to the plastic brake fluid reservoir. Its almost as if it was sealed from the factory. The smaller clutch fluid reservoir lid can be opened, but it is made differently. Can anyone help with my dilemma on how to open this reservoir? |

I have used a pair of channel locks (pump pliers) a time or two. If its real tight and has set for some time it can be a bear. Be careful to brace the resevoir so as not to break the plastic. LaVerne |

You can also try using an oil filter wrench, the ones with a handle and band should work. Clifton |

And when you get it off do not screw it on very tight when you replace it. Tighten it by hand only enough to bottom the cap gasket in the lid. At the first sign of resistance, stop. |
