There is a posting under 'Recarro Seats' in the "MGB General" section which also discusses Fiero Seats and gives a link to other site. http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&mode=thread&access=&subject=70&source=T&thread=2004011418062911072 Barry 73B |

Easily done. 1 set of seats and one extra set of Rails with feet. Remove the rear feet from the seat set of rails and remove the front feet from the extra set of rails. Attach the front feet that you removed from the extra rails to the rear of the rails on your seats. Enlongate (woller out)the holes for ease of allignment and install. Driver seat from feiro is now passenger seat in MGB |

I started that thread that Barry refers to. I was very seriously considering the Fiero seats, and had found several in a local scrapyard. In the end I decided to rebuild my stock seats. I will use the leather seat cover kit from Prestige Auto, which can be had for as litte at $300 with $20 shipping. The Fiero seat receives enthusiastic raves from those who have them. But I could not move beyond their size and appearance in the car. Here is a link to a photo album on another site. The car looks great, but the seats are not for me. http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/comart45/detail?.dir=/MGB1+Florida&.dnm=NewPaint01.jpg If that doesnt bother you, then I say go for it. |

I should give credit where its due. The aulbum and car I referenced above belong to Mr. Peter Cummins. It was found on the MGB Experience site. Go through the whole album. Mr. Cummins did a great job, and his car looks beautiful, if not entirely stock. But thats his choice and I say well done. |

JA, If you don't like the headrests you can whack them off during the recovering process. I talked to Mr. Mike and he told me that he will stitch up a set of covers for low backs. David www.mrmikes.com |

I have the Fiero seats in my 69 roadster. I love them. As far as the head rests go, yes they are a little bigger but they work for me. When I am cruising, I tip my head back about half an inch and the rest is right there. It's perfect! http://members.aol.com/goneguy/in-car.jpg |

If you visit Mr.Mikes website, the Fiero seats featured on his MG portion are mine...I did them this summer...very easy ... and I'm very pleased with the results. rick |

Plus, using Fiero seats you get the added bonus of headrest speakers. Good Luck Pete |

I have swapped in 3 sets of Fiero seats, basically changing the left seat rails to the right seat & the right seat rails to the left seat. A little egging of the front holes solves the front mounts. Drilling out the rivets holding the rear feet & replacing them with bolts allows them to swivle to match the captive nuts in the floor pan. In one case I had to move the rear feet a bit forward by drilling a new hole in the track If the Fiero seats seem a bit bulky, try Miata seats. They are a bit slimmer, not as encompassing to sit in, can have speakers built in, & can be found in tan leather. Leather covers (black)are available aftermarket from Moss & others. No more problem to mount than the Fiero seats. |

Will Miata seats fit under a standard mgb tonneau with headrests pockets? |

Can anyone tell me if the Fiero or Miata seats are any lower to the floor. I need to sit about an inch lower to avoid looking thru the top windshield rail !!!! Any one try to lower thier MG seats???? |
Bob R. |
Bob R I had to lower mine after installing new foams - I was looking over the windscreen and I'm not tall. The solution I adopted was to remove the two longditudinal support straps from under the seats as well as the wood strips under the rails. The end result was sufficient to give a good driving position. If the foams sag over time, the two longditudinal straps can be reinstalled to raise the seats again. Regards, Barry 73B |
