MG MGB Technical - Fuel cut-off valve
Hi, The fuel cut-off valve of my 1980 MGB is leaking (seems to be damaged on the side). Can it be removed without consequences and what is its purpose? I can not find this valve available as spare part with any supplier... Thank you for any inputs. Reto |

Remove it. They are prone to leaking and can cause serious fires. I have never seen a B with it still installed. What it is suppose to do is cut off the supply of fuel to the carburetor if you are in a wreck. There is an electric one under the dash to the left of the steering column that will cut power to the fuel pump if the car is seriously jarred. |
