MG MGB Technical - Fuel (Gas) Tanks

Hi All,

I have been reviewing the archives and doing some searching on my own about a tank for my '73 NA spec. The tank has rusted out on the top.

Does anyone know about the quality of the ebay tanks from seller marylandpq? The seller mentions that these tanks are made in Canada and has postive feedback. But has anyone actually used a fuel tank from this seller?

I also wonder if the ebay tank is the same tank as what Moss sells as aftermarket ($40 cheaper on ebay). I'm certainly willing to pay the extra money on the Moss tank if it is of better quality than the ebay deal. But if it's the same thing, I see no reason to pay more!

Does anyone have experience with the NRP4 tank from British Motor Heritage? I assume that this is supposed to be a better tank? But at $100 more than the Moss aftermarket tank, I want to make sure that this tank is superior to the other tanks.

I also wonder about baffling. The aftermarket tank definitely lacks the baffling, but does anyone know if the NRP4 tank has baffling?

Any suggestions/comments/opinions?

Thanks!

I have a 78 B and bought one from him. they hold 14.5 gal. and are said to be identical to the ones sold by the major suppliers. the shipping was quick and secure. the Nytrene coating is nice and help prevent the rust through. i would buy from this vendor again.
BTY, i cut a hole in the top and installed a GM fuel pump module for my EFI car. did no weld, just solder

I bought mine for my '74 off of ebay over 2 years ago. It said made in Canada...I assume its the same vendor.... It looked identical to my original...No problems and dont foresee any. I waited to fit it before I left feedback and all was positive. It shipped quickly and was good value for money and if I remember correctly it came with new gaskets for pick up and sender..

Thanks guys!

I still wonder if anyone else has tried the heritage tank?

I've tried emailing a couple suppliers, but have not heard back.
