MG MGB Technical - fuel pump?
I've got an 80B with I think the original fuel pump and Weber DGV. I seem to have to let the pump run for about 2 minutes before the gas makes it to the carb before I can get it to start after sitting for a day or two. Once it's run for awhile and shut off any restart is done quickly and the pump is right there. Could the pump be getting weak or is there some sort of flow-back valve that is not working to keep the lines full? Any ideas. Thanks.

David, I believe you have a slight leak at the pump on in line, allows the fuel to leak out and is causing something like vapor lock

David - How fast does the pump run when it is pumping up initially? If it runs very rapidly, then Ellis is on the right track. If, on the other hand, the pump runs very slowley, there may be a clog in the line or the pump may be getting tired. If you will send me your e-mail address, I'll send you a fuel delivery troubleshooting guide that may be of some help to you. Good luck - Dave
