Nate - Your car's wiring either has a short somewhere in the harness that goes to the back of the car, or something is connected wrong. The wire for power to the pump should be white and go to the unfused, switched side of the ignition switch. Normally it is taken off of the fuse with white wires on one side. Use the drawing of the wiring for your car and then start tracing the wire back from the pump and find out what it is connected to. Good luck - Dave |

I wouldn't drive the car until the problem is resolved. If it's just something miswired--no big deal--but if you've got a short somewhere--It's just going to get worse until your harness fuses together one rainy night and you lose all your precious Lucas smoke. |

Hi Nate. With the engine not running I wouldn't expect the pump to click more than once every few minutes or so as there is nowhere for the fuel to go. How often does the pump click with the engine off ?. Is your red ignition light also on with the ignition off ?. Don |
