MG MGB Technical - Fuel pump pressure
I bought a low pressure aftermarket fuel pump- the small square kind. here's my question- is it possible it's pumping higher than the recommended pressure, but lower than needed to overflow the carbs? If so, could it have the car run well, but lower the gas mileage? thanks... Don |

The little, square, run all the time, make a lot of noise, Facet pumps use a bypass valve to establish the output pressure or 2.5 - 4 psi. there is little chance that it would be putting out more than the rated pressure and if it did, it might cause the carburetors to overflow, but unless that were happening, there is now way that it could cause lower MPG.
