MG MGB Technical - gas flow back to tank

hi folks i finally got my '72 B GT goin after replaceing the fuel pump fuel lines....well ther is alot of gas runing from the carbs back threw the overflow into the tank...should this be?what might be the probablem? runing really rich?? oh also i ahve a pressure regualtor should it be set around 2-3??
Jeff

The fuel overflows because the bowl is too full. Could be a stuck float or floats, a float out of adjustment or a fuel pump putting out too much pressure. A 72 should have HIF4s and need 2-5 pounds of fuel pressure. Any more that that will be too much for the needle valves to handle. Fuel coming from one carb or both?
