MG MGB Technical - gaz shocks
in the middle of doing a gaz telescopic conversion back is done and the front almost. front kit comes with stainless braided hoses, just like to know if these have to be fitted as they look to be the same length of the old rubber ones. i know they should improve the brakes but at the moment i just want to get the car back on the road but i cant undue the old rubber hoes from the brake pipes. thanks for the replys on my other questions to. |

It might give a marginal improvement in pedal feel, but sound rubber hoses are fine. The problem with stainless braided is that you can't see the condition of the rubber, and you have to change them on a routine basis rather than on visual inspection. |

so really there no need to fit them, i thought praps they had to be re routed or something like that. |

No need, unless the design of the suspension means they will be rubbing on something as the steering wheel is turned from lock to lock, which would be wrong with any hoses, really. |

The stainless hoses that come with the kit should be longer than the stock hoses. That extra length is necessary to accomodate the new shocks without rubbing. |

yes your right ive just finished fitting the front shocks and had to use the braided hoses. the rubber ones were rubbing on the shocks where they bold to the calliper. new hoses have a different angle fitment |
