MG MGB Technical - Good gage for telling exact rpm
I am not sure that my tach is reading correctly is there a good tool that's inexpensive that could tell me roughly what it is reading? |

Any decent dwell/tach will give a good indicator of RPM to check against the tach. They are relatively inexpensive, and using the dwell function will help check points gap. |

My tach reads about 300 RPM too low when compared to the reading I get on the dwell/tach meter (which I believe to be accurate). Is there a way to adjust the tach? I've looked for a set screw on the back of the tach but couldn't find anything obvious. There is a rubber grommet pluging a hole - might it be under there? The car is a 1968 mgb roadster. Thanks for any advice. |
