MG MGB Technical - Handbrake lever spring

I'm getting ready to lubricate the brake parts in the drums. I have a 78 mgb roadster. Looking at the diagrams in Haynes and Bentley I see two springs from one snoe to the other. Moss shows a "spring, handbrake lever". But neither Haynes nor Bentley shows it. Is this spring necessary and if so how is it connected.

All you need to know is on Paul Hunt's web site http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/rearbrakes.htm#1

As you have a Salisbury axle on your 1978 car there should be a handbrake spring with a fat coil at either end sitting just above the hydraulic cylinder. The pictures and text on Paul's site explains everything.

There should be three springs for the Salisbury - one at the top and two at the bottom, and all are required. The manuals and suppliers sites are confusing, hopefully the page Mike references will explain it all.
