MG MGB Technical - Hardi
After developing a Banjo leak on my Hardi fuel pump, failing to get an adequate, leak proof seal with the available Fibre washers, I contacted Hardi, for information on converting my pump from banjo to "tails". They were incredibly helpful, and during the mail in which I thanked them, I asked about fuel filter placement. They recommend a filter between tank and pump, in the same way Facet do!! Interesting SU didn't! |

After 60 years, 500,000 cars and goodness knows how many millions of miles, never mind how many other BL models use the same system, we would know by now if it needed one :o) Both the tank and SU pumps (at least) already have filters, and if they clog the problem is in the tank. |

Hey, I'm reporting what they told me, not arguing the point Paul. I think the Hardi valves are smaller, and they are being super cautious. When you buy a Hardi, from any of the usual suspects, they all say it's a like for like swap! |

I have found that the fiber washers tend to sweat after replacing the fuel pump (S.U -> S.U). Replacing the washers doesn't guarantee a good seal. "Tails" could constitute an upgrade, Hardi, S.U or otherwise. |
