MG MGB Technical - headlights routed thru horn
Hello, new to the MGB world as i recently purchased one for restoration. My question is my 72 mgb had one horn missing...passenger side....I'm having trouble with the drivers side headlight high beam not working...does the electrical system require the horn to be in place for routing? any help would be much appreciated. No Paul, they are not linked. You should look at a wiring diagram for your year of car. There are excellent coloured diagrams here: http://www.advanceautowire.com/mgb.pdf A cheap digital multi-meter is invaluable for tracking down wiring problems, but could your high beam simply be a burnt out bulb? |

thanks Mike, i swapped out the driver side(malfunction side) with the working side and the high beam worked. Leads me to a wiring issue. Ill try putting a power probe on the connection point to see if the connection is the issue. thanks Paul |

Driver's/left side is routed across the front, there are two bullets, one on the right just front side of the rad diaphragm, which feeds the right side as well. The other just by the horn on the left side.. Pull them and clean them, also the black earth/ground bullets. These front ones can get very corroded because of where they are. |

Paul- If you find that you need to replace corroded or otherwise damaged bits of british electrical components (such as bullet connectors in your case), then click on this: http://www.britishwiring.com/ They don't sell junk stuff. |
