MG MGB Technical - heater cable route
There is a control cable that passes from the hearer box and than through the two "bulkheads" on its way to the dashboard control. In the second bulkhead, does it pass through the 3/4 inch round hole? Thanks, Tom |

YOu didn't say what year car but it sounds like you may have a 73-74. On my 74 the heater cable goes through a hole just below the big rubber plug for access to the clutch and master cylinders it come out the side of the pedal box. It's a single bulkhead at that point. It was there when I bought the car, I assume it is correct. The choke cable goes through the hole you mentioned. Clifton |

Thanks for the reply. More information:, The "B" is a 1973. The cable I am routing is the one that works the "flap" door on the heater box. There is a hole in the firewall for its insertion but I do't know where it should go after that. I'll check the pedal box tonight. Thanks, Tom |

Tom, I guess I didn't understand your question. My response is not correct because I was talking about the cable to the heater valve. It's been so long since I had the flap control cable out I don't recall how it's routed. I know it goes through the inner bulkhead behind the console and you can look into the passenger side heater outlet see the cable. As I recall, when I removed my heater box I disconnected the cable at the dash control and pulled the heater box up far enough to remove the cable from the flap and just left the cable in place. Sorry I cannot give more details. Clifton |
