MG MGB Technical - HS4 carburettors

Hello I am struggling with the choke and accelerator set up on a 1971 mgb roadster. It has standard HS4 carburettors and I can't seem to find a suitable photograph either in the haynes manual, other mgb books or the internet.

Does anyone have a photo of the correct arrangement (showing the linkages and spring set up)?

The trickiest thing is the choke cable, which has it's inner attached to a fixed arm which is part of the air-cleaner fixings, and it's the outer that moves the choke lever up and down as the inner is pulled out of the dash.

So from your foto Richard the cable 'outside' moves as the inner cable is anckored to the bracket off the carb. My system has become exceedingly stiff of late. Perhaps just needs lubrication ( cable that is) the chokes themselves move well on the carbs

With the 'reversed' HS choke cable operation you need to make sure the cable is free to move around as you pull the choke. Also with the choke half-pulled the lever on the shaft should be making a right-angle with the cable for easiest operation. Otherwise it can become very stiff either at the beginning or the end. Plus lubrication of course.
