MG MGB Technical - indicators not working

hi all, after more advice please.next problem on my list is that the indicators are not working.the hazards work fine!? is there a "relay" on the car that i would need to replace ( where located pls).this is why i wanted engine bay pics to locate stuff. would it be a fuse ( where fuse box pls)1977 mgb gt rubber bump.
thanks

The flasher units are under the dash, next to the wiper motor, sort of above the brake pedal.

As a matter of interest, does your heater fan work? Sometimes I have lost indicators and fan (always together) and "adjusting" one of the bunches of wires sorts it out.

No it dosent work! i shall check the wiring in the area you suggested, thanks a lot

The hazards use a different supply and flasher unit to the indicators. However one of the biggest causes of problems with the indicators on cars with hazards is in the hazard switch itself. This is because the 12v supply to the indicators goes via the hazard switch when it is off, so they are cut off when the hazards are on. This stops the hazard flashers feeding voltage back through the indicators to the ignition and fuel pump, which could easily happen, even though the keys might be in your hand. Sometimes flipping the switch back and fore will restore them, but in my case they only went again so I dismantled the hazard switch (in a poly bag to catch all the bits) dug out the old grease and put in new. However if other fused ignition stuff doesn't work either, it could be a common fault, or it could be more than one fault especially on a car that is new to you. On a late model car there are three separately fused ignition circuits, and the indicators do indeed share a supply with the heater and tach, and via one 4-way bullet connector with the wipers, and via a second 4-way bullet connector with the fuel and temp gauges and the handbrake warning light. These are all fed from the second fuse up in the fusebox. The fusebox should be immediately in front of the brake master on the left-hand inner wing.

That should say right-hand inner wing (if my network connection would stay up for more than a couple of seconds at a time).
