MG MGB Technical - Installed Pertronix ignition yesterday
About a month ago I bought a pertronix from Victoria British. Yesterday I decided to try to install it. I started at about 3:40 PM and hadit done by 5:05. It did not work which got me scared so I took the instructions and satdown with them to reread to try and figure it out. After about a half hour I tried reconnecting the positive coil wire that was there to begin with. SUCCESS! in part. The car started but the tach did not work. So I reattached the Negative coil wire that was the at first and the tach worked again! I'm no great mechanic so all this made me nervous. At any rate I've been driving the car today and all seems fine. I don't know if power has increased yet, but it is operating smoothly and I am very pleased. BOB |

Bob, This is how you learn. Good job! Ray |

Just make sure you recheck/reset your timing. It probably changed a bit. It's amazing how much 3 or 4 degrees retard will sap your power. |
