MG MGB Technical - Instrument panel lamp problem
Help! My 1970 MGB had all its instrument lamps go out over a 2 day period. I replaced all the bulbs and made sure the ground wire was attached to each instrunment. Still no lamps. Even wired the off-on wires to the switch on the left side of the steering column together in case the switch was bad (no rheostat in my year). Is there an in-line fuse I am missing? all 4 main fuses are fine. Any other thoughts? Would enjoy seeing the instruments again at night! Thanks for any input! |

Ivan Did the bulbs burn out individually? Or did they just quit working? If all burned out check your charging system as it would appear that the voltage is too high. If the bulbs are good but not working it is time to start testing along the circuit with a voltmeter to determine where the open circuit is. Could be anyting from the switch to a disconnected ground wire. HTH Larry |
