MG MGB Technical - k&n air filters
in my last question the mention of a K&N air filter was brought up as a possible suspect in the white vapor coming from exhaust at start up. IS there a problem in using these filters on an mg with dgv web carb . i have them on all both cars and my bikes with no problems, thanks , Doug |

I think the K&N question came from Allan. I suspect he was thinking an open filter housing may let external water into the engine if there was a bonnet leak etc. Hopefully he'll post back soon. I'm sure he has a lot more insight than I do as I run stock filters on my HS-4's. Bob |

You should have added this to the tread, starting a new one gets confusing with two from the same person on the same subject. Unless you have louvres or there is some other way water can get onto the filters when standing the open K&Ns aren't an issue. |

Yes, I've seen soaked K & N's which sit under louvres. Similarly "flooded" O E filters on a V8. |

no louvres, never used in rain. doug |
