MG MGB Technical - lights going dim
I have a 73 B. Lately I have noticed when driving at night my lights go really bright then dim, and back bright again. Is this anything to worry about and what would be causing this? |

Matt, Does it do this in conjunction with the RPM's? First, check your belt for proper tension. If it is too loose I believe it could cause this problem. Also, I have noticed this occuring to a slight degree on mine in the past when the batteries are weak and nearing time for replacement. Other possibilities are altenator going and/or dirty connectors. Paul |

A dying voltage regulator gave my 'B the same symptoms. Amazing how bright the headlamps are at 17 volts. The downside is that it let the smoke out of my dash lamps. ~Jerry |
