MG MGB Technical - MGB Chassis Numbers

Can anyone enlighten me as to the origins of a chassis number such as: GB23T ******P ?
The listing of MG numbers on this site doesn't seem to match up with this and I am a little confused as it what it signifies.
Also, as a 'new' MG owner, can you tell me all the places that the chassis number appears on an mgb roadster?
Can anyone offer assistance or point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance, Nick
Nick

Your number is the body number, GB23T : right-hand drive roadster. P : body produced at Swindon.
The chassis number plate is located on the right-hand inner wing valance in front of the radiator diaphragm pannel.

Thanks for that Michel, that's a weight off my mind.
There are so many numbers...
This means that the last MoT I have for my car states the body number instead of the VIN number. The previous 11 (yes, eleven!) MoTs show the Commission number instead of the VIN number. In short, every MoT since 1992 has the wrong number on it and DVLA have never noticed. The car has been constantly on the road in that period and has been taxed every year without anyone noticing that the numbers didn't match the V5 either!
I've found the VIN plate where you suggested (under some underseal) and it matches the V5, so all's OK!
At any rate, I've learned my first bit about MGs so that's a plus (I've only owned this car, my first MG, since last Wednesday).
Thanks again Michel,
Au revoir!
Nick
