sorry to say but there are differnces like the oil pick up, sump, back plate, pertol pump, input shaft... and a few other things. but it is not impossible |

Marina uses the Triumph single rail gearbox - (Spitfire, MG midget) Ian F |

Graham , Marina 1800TC shared exactly the same engine as actual MGB (18V). It's really easy to transplant it but generally people do the shift exactly the opposite way ( from Marina to a B ) Good luck. |

Been there DONE that! The backing plate, trans.,flywheel, starter & pilot bush, are the problems. The flywheel is the same as the 66&67 B, you can have the polit bush made. The 18V motor has the cover were the fule pump goes. I just built up a 18V marina to go in a 59 nash metro. I have all the parts, you will need? |

Glen has outlined the differences. My GT had an engine from a Marina TC when I got it. The basic engine is identical. There is an easier way round the problem though..... crush the Marina !!! |

Hey I put a MGB 'O' drive tranmission into my Marina. You have to change the rear plate to match the starter. the drive end of the starter has to be changed. Flipped over actually. But now, you are taxing my memory. [that's one the liberals missed] Relax! It's a joke! But use the MG transmission. Sure you have to make your own crossmember. and a new tunnel cover. But if I could do it................. I shoulda' kept that car, rust and all................ Safety Fast Dwight |
