MG MGB Technical - MGE chatter

This weeks synopsis of that advertising site known as MGE has Rob advising silicone sealant for core plugs, and, well.. everything else, too. $3.99 at wally world, why pay lots of dough? Rob or Sky whatever you want to call him is sooo cool.

And another installment of the ever popular (a Mr Natural) clean your 60 year old crudded up and rusted fuel tank with WHITE VINEGAR. Works wonders in the laundry rinse to get rid of cigarette and tar heroin stink so why not buy some gallons at grocery outlet and soak your tank? It wont do anything but it will sure make you feel stupid for falling for that one. Ha ha, it works if your tank does not need anything! Almost as bad as the molassis to clean rust off...well as we all know--you name it it works so great.

See, any drug inspired fantasy is possible on MGE if you drop enough acid. DO less and take better care of yourselves, boys. And just because it seemed like a good idea when you were drunk don't mean it is a good idea when sober (or when you still drunk).

Wrong forum, mate.

Say What? Get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Well isn't that clever? Just because you not offensive like the others on MGE does not mean all is well, DDB. What a bunch of juvenile delinquents at that stupid site that offers only the most basic info so you will hopefully get it done by one of the "experts" once they point out all the difficulties you will encounter, rather than simply tell you how to do it in easy to understand terms. Nothing complicated about these cars, and MGE is simply a clearinghouse for vendors with a product or service to peddle.
That baby webmaster booted me yesterday for pointing out the pitfalls of using silicone gasket material to "seal" core plugs. Refused to answer what term of service I had violated or reply at all. Prick. To get booted I asked "rather than clog up your radiator with more silicone why not use a non hardening sealant like hylomar instead--if you feel the need to use anything, that is, to seal up the expansion plugs." Cannot bother the people with any useful info, can we?

I see I am in good company in the antartic. Here is one of my favorite threads that caused banishment to another member trying to get those idiots to think how stupid they sounded. One of many many many who have tried to introduce some thinking to that idiot site.

So gro a pair Dave.
Ben Stevens

This jerk has spammed the MGE for quite a while with his assinine comments. It looks like he might have given up on MGE and has found a new forum to show his stupidity.

You are a tool herb or whatever your name is. Keep up your senile inerpretation of this one post and we will banish you to mge where you obviously came from, and belong. People come to sites like this to get away from the commercial spam posing as a forum like at MGE. Better yet get some silicone sealant and squirt the whole tube in your radiator. That is if you even own a car. Right Herb, spam like the link above, that you did not read because you work for mge and BS rules don't it?
Ben Stevens

Ignore him.

Yawn!

Is this the forum you are really looking for, Ben ?

We hope you get better soon.

Ben they want you back at mgeexp. They be lookin for U. Last time I looked at that pregnant pig joke of a site I felt like sticking a needle in my arm and ending it all, but yur observation of their fascination with vinegar is write on. They can't shut up about it. Good enough for a vagina, why not your gas tank? Who can argue? I think it is some sort of heroin junkie code word for some infection you get from needles. Makes sense to them over there, who all are working from the same high school shop class manual. If something is not in the official MGB manaul it is a threat that must be obliterated. Ben, did you proof read your comments that got you thrown off with the mgb manual? Forget about learning anything thither, 95% of the posts are actually buy a guy named Rob now, since Ernie got caught with tampons (codeword) again. Rob has 80 or so fake identities he uses to agree with himself or to ask stupid questions that he can then answer as himself. you know, bla bla bla. He is actually the webmaster, which is why he can hurl obscenities and call people a--holes and such with impugnity, while you cannot question the use of silicone sealant on freeze plugs.
S Cole

Mge does take care of there suppliers and the suppliers pay good money to see that MGE will be there the next day

Its a win win situation ...life isnt free

What is an MGE and when did they bring out this this model, before the MGF? :)
Neckieman

MGE is another forum on MGs (and other cars). It's very active.

The TD was succeeded by the TF. TE was presumably seen as laughable, and so is this!!
Allan Reeling

"It's very active"

... and rather suspect ...
paulh4

I was joking.....................!
Neckieman

Good to see Herb and Paul are in utter agreement. Seeing how one in UK other in OZ it amazes they both have same IP addy. bravo!
tables1

People over there are nutjobs, every one of them.
tables1

Now they are sealing wire wheels with plastic wrap and duct tape...again. Same cycle of bizarre over and over and over
Ben Stevens

Can anyone think of a better use for duct tape and plastic wrap? Answers on a post card only please!!
C Martin

At my age thinking about it is all I can do ...
paulh4

FWIW this forum has the most educated, on topic responses. A long time ago MGE was pretty good however its been taken over by inexperienced trolls who push their own 'interesting' ideas which to a novice owner would be pretty counterproductive and teach said owner nothing.
