MG MGB Technical - Moss Supercharger rattle
Had supercharger fitted in 2006 in rebuilt 1972 mgb roadster. Collected car from storage yesterday. Started up and ran well. Today, a lot of rattle sound coming from supercharger housing. Maybe 4000 miles on car since fitting SC. Does this sound like a bearing failure? Thanks for any input / advice. Chris |

Bearings are generally reliable. How about the idler pulleys/ plate? |

I want to check the oil in the unit. That is where the noise is coming from. Does anyone know what type of oil I should use and how much? Also posted this in SC section. Thanks. Chris |

The teflon drive coupling inside the front drive input housing was a little dorky from the get-go and a weak design in my opinion. That is the first place I would look. Rob |
