MG MGB Technical - No power to fuel pump
My '80 B is stuck with no power going to the fuel pump. Here's the details: - power line going to pump does not spark against chassis and reads 0 V on my multimeter - 12 V to the pump from a spare battery and it runs fine - all fuses show good continuity - no obvious wiring issues on visual inspection - no other weird electrical occurrences What next? Can anyone help me get my lovely B back on the road? Thanks!!!!!!! |

DS - The power to the fuel pump doesn't come through any of the fuses (white wires - switch, unfused 12 volts). You will need to chase the white wire from the fuel pump to the connection at the fuse block. I believe that it goes through a multi wire bullet connector low in the back of the engine compartment on the right side. Cheers, |

I found the problem! In the engine compartment a wire had come loose from its rubber-jacketed connector (bullet connector?). Although the electrical connection was broken the tight-fitting rubber jacket had kept the wire from coming completely free. Thanks for your help! |
