MG MGB Technical - oilpressure and temperature gauge fitting
Hi fellow Mgb members, I fit a new combination gauge to my 73 MGB and it has failed after a period of 10 months, It was not an easy job to fit the new gauge and now Im going to have to do it all over again, and Im woundering if any of you can give me some tips on how to make this repair a bit easier, When I fit the gauge I had both air vents out and dropped the steering wheel and colume down, I spent alot of time with my head in the foot well, and I found my hands were a bit on the large size, as many of you will know the temp gauge is worked of a capillary tube and the oil pressure gauge via pipe from the engine block which is fixed to the bulk head under the dash with a clip and screw and is awkward to get at, If you can make any sugestions to make this job easier I would appriciate your input, Regards PT |
