MG MGB Technical - Oilpumpbase abuts the crossbolt
Hi folks, the work is almost done, but there is one main problem left: I have a 4,6l crossboltet engine in my 71 mgb roadster. The problem is that the oilpumpbase abuts to the crossbolt in the front. Even if I screw off the crossbolt, the oilpumpbase abuts to the engine block. I asked some suppliers if there are different front covers or oilpumpbases but they negate. Does anyone had the same problem and have a solution for it? Any help is highly appriciated. Regards from Berlin, Marcus |

Hi Marcus I'm afraid I don't understand '4,6l crossboltet' and am not sure what you mean by 'the crossbolt in the front'. Please try a different phrase. Thanks.. Don |

Dan, thanks for your reply. I have installed a 4.6l Rover V8 engine in my MGB. The 4.0 and 4.6l engines were crossbolted (5 crossbolts on each side of the engine). I'm sorry I don't have another phrase for it. Best regards, Marcus |

Hi Marcus. Thanks for making it clear. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but hopefully someone else does. Good luck.. Don |
