MG MGB Technical - Original Leather for Earl Grey wanted
I posted this on the MGB General list and got some interest but not leather . . . sorry if you've seen it there: Hi all: I am the present “curator” of an MGB GT survivor named "Earl Grey" because it is the colour of Tea with lots of milk. The car was purchased new in Edmonton Alberta Canada by a lady professor in 1967 and every cent ever spent on it is documented from the original bill of sale to every oil change. When she quite driving the car in the late 1980s its ownership passed to her son, who had some work done and then stored it, putting on only a few hundred miles every year, followed by a service. The interior is original but the driver’s seat red leather has split in two places and I would like to replace it with original seat material. Although I have the skill and equipment for this job I would normally never do it as making a new cover is less work but I want to keep "Earl Grey" as original as possible. Does anyone have a good original early MGB, red with white piping, seat cover that they have removed and saved that they would be willing to part with? Or the left seat-back panel and seat-bottom right panel that I can sew into my seats? A passenger seat will work just fine as they are the same ass the drive’s side. Canada or USA preferred but . . . Your help appreciated . . . Godspeed in Safety Fast Jc |
