If one has a later model B (1979) with a Eurospec Lucas Distributor (?45D), as well as a pertronix Flame thrower ballasted coil (1.5ohm/6V)what model number pertronix ignitor I electonic ignition do I order if I wanted to save a little money and go with a online discouter for these ignitions.

hi i had the same setup as you but had a few problems, i was talked in to getting rid of the lot. i purchased a aldon b1by2 dizzy and a small unit which fitted inside,no need for points.the lot came to around £120 worth every penny

Frank,

I have the 3.0 Ohm Flame Thrower and use LU-144 or 9LU-144 which is the Pertonix II.

To my understanding the 1.5ohm is also compatible with the same Ignitor. Long as you have a 1.5 ohm ballast resistor.

I do not think the LU-141 for the 45DE4 distributor will work with the Eurospec distributor. So I would go with the ones I stated above.

Frank,
The 45DE4 (opus) takes either the LU-141 or 9LU-141.
The 45DM4 (CEI) takes a LU-147
The 45D4 (points) takes a LU-144 or 9LU-144

The Pertronix unit with a "9" prefix are the Ignitor II with adaptive dwell control and a hotter spark. Your car will definitely run and start better with one of those!

I highly recommed buying them from Classic Garage! (no association)

They have them in stock and ship fast!
