MG MGB Technical - Pertronix Ignition

Does anyone have the pertronix breakerless ignition on their car?

Does the timing have to be advanced when using a breakerless ignition?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave - The timing is set the same as with a points set up, but the distributor has to be rotated somewhat to get it set with the Pertronix in use. It doesn'ttrigger at the same point (physically) as the points did. Put a test light on the line going to the coil and then procede to set static timing the same way you would for the points. Once the static timing is in the ball park, go ahead and time the ignition by whatever means you used before and to the same point. Good luck - Dave
