MG MGB Technical - Petronix - Loose 'Rotor'
I saw the comments about the ignitors and just wanted to ask if anyone else noticed that the magnetic "rotor" was something of a sloppy fit on my cam/distributor shaft. It is the correct pattern - it just had a little play in it - unlike the standard rotor. I just used a little adheasive - something like JB Weld to keep it snug - I hate to do that type of thing. Also wanted to know if the dwell is altered by the ignitor. I'll go throught the archives as well. Thanks in advance, JD |

JD, the dwell is a bit lower with the pertronix, as dwell takes on a different meaning now that you have electronics, not a mechanical switch. I use a bit of silicon on the magnetic trigger wheel to keep it from rotating. That way it is easily removable for later maintenance. |
