MG MGB Technical - Petronix - Loose 'Rotor'

I saw the comments about the ignitors and just wanted to ask if anyone else noticed that the magnetic "rotor" was something of a sloppy fit on my cam/distributor shaft. It is the correct pattern - it just had a little play in it - unlike the standard rotor.

I just used a little adheasive - something like JB Weld to keep it snug - I hate to do that type of thing.

Also wanted to know if the dwell is altered by the ignitor. I'll go throught the archives as well.

Thanks in advance,

JD, the dwell is a bit lower with the pertronix, as dwell takes on a different meaning now that you have electronics, not a mechanical switch.
I use a bit of silicon on the magnetic trigger wheel to keep it from rotating. That way it is easily removable for later maintenance.
