MG MGB Technical - prince of darkness
Hi all, a friend of mine with a '75 B all of sudden lost operation of gas gauge, tach, brake lights and turn signals. He has checked grounds from stem to stern and found no problems. Is there a common wire under the dash that connects these instruments? Thanks in advance. |

He might want to start by checking at the fusebox to see if there's 12v coming in on the white and out on the green. |

All those circuits are ignition live, green wire circuits which are fed by the ignition white circuit direct from the ignition switch. If the ignition feed had gone down he would also have lost the fuel pump and ignition. Next to the bottom fuse. Check the fuse and clean the spring fuse holders and the male spades . He'll find the reversing lights inoperable too. 17 amp continuous, 35 amp blow were the fitted fuses. |
